Hello, I’m Nicola Giannini, a composer, sound designer, and university educator based in Montréal. The Picnic Studio is my portfolio of music composition and sound design for media. It presents a selection of my work for digital campaigns, video mappings, short films, animations, and audiovisual installations.
Since 2006, I have worked across a range of musical genres, including electronic music, pop, indie pop, dance music, orchestral music, and experimental sound. In 2009, I won the Vivimilano Best Soundtrack Award at Movi&CO in Italy. I have collaborated with the video-mapping studio Apparati Effimeri, visual artist and animator Simone Brillarelli, directors Roberto D’Ippolito and Dario Basile, and designer Giovanni Antignano.
I hold a doctorate in Music Composition and Sound Creation from the Université de Montréal, where my research focused on spatial and immersive sound experiences. My current work brings together sound creation, immersive audio, research-creation, and university teaching. For more about my artistic and research projects, please visit my main website:
